Art Journal Page

The last couple of days, I’ve been working on a art journal page in the same Alena Hennessy style. I’m a planner, plan and simple. So, this style of just paint from the heart and it will come I thought would be really hard for me. Turns out I was wrong. I enjoy the process so much more.

I have learned a lot of things with this journal page. Plus, it just felt good!

Next thing, I will be posting is my Bead Journal Project….almost finished with it!

Thanks for stopping in! Enjoy your Friday!

Child’s play painting

So, I have been busy working on my Life Book lesson for this week. The Joy of Intention with Alena Hennessy. I have to admit before this week, I have never heard of Alena. But, I can tell you that I am smitten with her work and style. I’m going to admit some of these weeks of Life Book have been difficult for me and some just not my think. Alena lesson made me feel so free and happy! Some how when I take classes I get lost in WHO I AM…and I hate that. Feeling like I have lost my style. Painting by intuition, without a plan was awesome.

Mixed Media folder- Life Book

Last night,  I finally finished the last piece of the assignment in life book! It was to make a folder using some of the techniques we learned in the Life Book 2014 lesson from Carla Sonheim.  I have to say, I just loved this lesson. The folder was so fun to make!

This is the front of the folder. I guess this is a tribal chicken creature in the meadow. LOL

Here is the back with my word of the year. Look it’s a paint blob swan!

LifeBook 2014

One of the things, I wanted to do this year was learn to make some “Me” time. So, I signed up for LifeBook 2014. The first project/page Tam had us do was a guardian angel. Drawing “real” looking people is not my thing..but I gave it a go.

One of the other lesson was from Carla Sonheim.  It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of Carla’s and have taking a few of her on-line classes. Carla always has you reach in and grab that inner 7 year old artist that we love to push out of sight!

A few of my favorites- Making flowers out of scraps, paint blob animals, drawing blind, drawing with non-dominent hand, and one liners.

Each night the boys and I have some art time. Some night’s it just a quick activity and other nights it’s more involved.  One of the activities Carla had us do was washi tape animals. So, I asked the boys to do it with me. I am over the moon excited about the results!

Sam’s bird- I am giddy in love with it! I am thinking it needs to be made into a pillow, t-shirt or something cool.

Ben’s animal- I am so in love with that eye and toes! So stinkin cute!

My bird- So fun!

I have to say, I am loving the LifeBook class so far! Doing things I would have never done and loving it!

What’s everyone else working on? Thanks for stopping in today!

Word of the year- FOCUS

Happy New Year everyone. For the past few years I have been doing a Word of the Year. This year, I choose the word FOCUS.

– Focus on my goals

– Focus on all the good

– Focus on the future

– Focus on fun

– Focus on the important things

– Focus on celebrating the little things

– Focus on my dreams

Follow One Course Until Successful

Another thing I am doing this year is taking the Life Book 2014 class. It is a year long online class.  Class started yesterday. I was able to complete the warm up exercise this am.  Of course, I took it a little farther than we were suppose to for the warm up. Once, I was on a roll I was unstoppable! (Smile)
