Cheerful

What makes you cheerful ? Is it the big things in life that make you cheerful and happy? Like when you get something you have always wanted (material things)? Or is it the little things in life that make you happy? Like taking a walk and seeing a new kind of bird? Sometimes,  I think what makes us cheerful is a combination of the big things and the small things.  If you give respect to everyone for what makes them cheerful and happy the world would be a better place. Let people be who they are and enjoy what makes them happy.

Here are some of things that have made me CHEERFUL THIS WEEK:

Stamped nails done by me

New flower on one of my daylilies

Snowman Sam made in his art class

Painting Sam did in his art class

Going to the fair with my boys and good friends

Cheesecake from PhatPenguins Cheesecakes

Making some earrings!

Cheerful things are all around you if you take the time to look for them! Appreciate all the small things, they make life so much more meaningful.  If you believe it…it is possible.

Thanks for stopping in to visit with me! Enjoy your Sunday 🙂

End of the line…

Yesterday was Ben’s last day of PJ4 (Like Pre-K paid for by the school board). This school year has had lots of ups and downs.

I thought I would share with you some of the interesting thing Ben did at school this year.

– Two weeks into school they have a class meet and greet for the Parents and kids. We go and everyone is like Hi Ben- Hi Ben… Seems everyone knows Ben’s name! I am like OH NO…everyone always knows the naughty kid in class! Then Taylor’s Mom comes up to me and says Hi I am _____… and I know all about Ben! I am like ummm is that a good or bad thing! Bracing myself…..she tells me how Taylor has a crush on Ben and how all the girls in the class think he is a “hottie”!

– Ben vomited in Taylor’s hair ( She no longer has a crush on him). They both got sent home from school!

– He cut his Halloween Costume off after the parade they did. His teacher told them all to get their costumes off. If they could not do it  she would be around to help them. I guess he got sick of waiting and the one piece GI Joe costume he cut the arms and crotch out of. As you can image I had many questions for the teacher when picking him up.

– At Ben’s school they have a closet with a window on one side and a mirror on the other side. They use this so the parents can see how their child acts/learns.  So on my day, I am in this closet watching. They play a song at clean up time. Ben had cut paper up to make confetti. So his teacher sends him to the closet to get the broom. Not remembering I am in the closet. Ben opens the door and I jump out and yell surprise..since I am unsure what to do. Ben was like MAMA what you doing in there! So, the next day at school he goes to the closet… and tells me no one was in the closet today…next day he does to the closet….He says  guess who was in the closet…Mia’s Mom and Dad! LOL! Then Ben was not allowed to check in the closet anymore!

– Conference time: Ben scores at Kindergarten level on most areas and  1st-2nd grade level on a couple of areas.

– I am at the Post Office and this little girl comes up to me and said “You look like Ben’s Mom” I tell her that I was and her Mom tells me how much her daughter loves Ben.

– Ben’s first day back after missing a week of school for  his sinus surgery. Illeana and Willow run up and hold his hands as he heads on to the playground!A girl on each arm

-Ben’s end of year report card- comment from his teacher “Ben is a bright boy full of potential”

Now for the teacher gifts. He had one teacher and two helpers.

The packaging.

Make a difference

Stamps TAC, Colored with Copics

1st graders make a difference. Sam is doing a a Penny Challenge at school to help those affected by the Earthquake in Haiti. He is really determined to get lots of pennies to donate. The class room with the pennies wins a “small treat”. They can put silver coins in the other classes pot of money and it subtracts from it! I love how they are having fun while making a difference in other peoples lives!

Happy Tuesday! Hope it is a great day for you all! I have studio time planned today! Woo hoo!

Thanks for taking the time to come visit me! It means a lot to me!

Show your beauty….

As, I teach my boys that beauty is  something that is way more than your outward appearance! It is how others see your soul and spirit too. I think sometimes we all get caught on working on our outward appearance that we forget that to be beautiful you need to work on the insides too!

A rose has many layers. All have to be beautiful or the whole flower is unattractive.

All this thought came from going to Ben’s meet and great at school. It was shocking to me that almost everyone of  Ben’s class mates and parents knew Ben. He knows NO one by name! So finally after a brave moment I asked one of the other Mom’s what her daughter said about Ben. I was assuming that it was he was in trouble all the time! He is very high spirited! LOL! This mom tells me that all the girls in the class have a crush on Ben. Her daughter told her the first day of school that Ben was a HOTTIE! OMG, we are talking about 4 year olds! I guess this explains Ben getting his hair pulled by two girls now! LOL!

Speaking of Hottie’s- this is how Ben drew Mr. Ink!

Have a wonderful day! Come back tomorrow for the Sunflower and Dragonflies Creative Designs weekly challenge! IT IS HOT!!!!

OH, the questions I have????

Life sometimes throws you a curve ball or two! As we try to discover what path we should alternative route we should take, some questions need to be asked! I am sort of at a cross roads with my genealogy.  Part of the problem is I have been in a funky since having to put my kitty to sleep.  So, what better why to get over something then to journal it! I went to work in my new journal that I made in Julie’s Super Nova class.  St. Gertrude was the patronage of cats.  My Great Grandma was Gertrude. Not sure if she was a cat lover or not! She passed away when I was very young. The only story I have ever hear about her is she was lived in a nursing and she went out to the store and got what she thought was chocolate and gave it to all her friends in the nursing home. They all got a bad case of diarrhea.  Great Grandma Gertie never got to go out to the store again!
